The SR&ED Program

The SR&ED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) program was introduced by the CRA (formerly Revenue Canada) in 1992, retroactive to 1987. Through this program the government promotes ongoing research and development in Canada, by providing financial compensation for innovative technological efforts that help companies compete in the marketplace.

The SR&ED program continues to evolve rapidly due to changes in income tax regulations as well as continuous efforts by the CRA to provide better service to a growing number of industries.

More information on this program can be found at: the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Website

How FCGI helps your company:

  1. We arrange to meet with you to discuss activities and projects that your company has been involved in during the last two years.
  2. We evaluate this information to determine which activities qualify under the SR&ED program.
  3. We write a technical report to describe and validate your eligible activities to the CRA.
  4. We determine all eligible costs related to your SR&ED claim.
  5. We prepare all forms required for your SR&ED claim and submit it to the CRA.
  6. We represent your company at technical reviews and financial reviews held by the CRA, in relation to your SR&ED claim.
  7. We track the progress of your SR&ED claim until it is approved by the CRA.
  8. We can also help your company implement internal procedures to improve preparation for future SR&ED claims.

Your company may recover up to 73%
of the cost of your technical activities
